I love technology. Early on in my career, I specialized in tech topics, and I am still excited to learn and experience new things every day.

Naturally, moderating a large event about engineering and innovation in the crane industry is something I am passionate about.

This year I had the great pleasure of accompanying the Liebherr team at their headquarters in Ehingen for three days full of impressive shows and demonstrations at the Liebherr Customer Days 2024.

As the host of the Liebherr “UpLoad” video magazine, where we deep-dive into the features and capabilities of Liebherr’s latest mobile and crawler cranes, it was an absolute delight to bring that experience to a live audience. The one-hour live mobile crane and crawler show was spectacular, showcasing Liebherr’s latest advancements and their unparalleled expertise in crane technology.

The show kicked off with an introduction by Sophie Albrecht, grandchild of founder Hans Liebherr and member of the board of management, setting the stage for the impressive showcase of Liebherr’s mobile and crawler cranes. Each crane demonstrated its unique capabilities, from intricate maneuvers to lifting heavy loads with incredible precision. Even after so many years of working with Liebherr, I am still amazed every time by the seamless coordination and the sheer power of these machines.

One of the highlights was seeing the new features in action. The advanced control systems, eco-friendly engines, and innovative design elements were not just talked about; they were put to the test in real-world scenarios. These demonstrations underscored why Liebherr continues to lead the industry in technological advancements.

Throughout the show, I had the privilege of engaging with Liebherr engineers and product specialists. Their passion and deep knowledge of crane technology brought an added layer of insight to the event. They explained how each innovation contributes to improved efficiency, safety, and sustainability in crane operations.

Live demonstrations were the heart of the show. Watching these cranes perform complex tasks was truly a sight to behold. Whether it was lifting and placing massive structures or navigating tight spaces, each demonstration highlighted the cranes’ capabilities and the sophisticated technology that drives them.

As the sun set, the event transitioned into a magical evening. The sky over the Liebherr headquarters lit up with a mesmerizing drone show accompanied by a live drum performance. The drones danced in the night sky, creating intricate patterns and illuminating the entire area with vibrant colors. This spectacle was a perfect finale, blending technology and artistry in a way that left everyone in awe.

The Liebherr Customer Days 2024 were more than just a showcase of cranes; they were a celebration of the relentless pursuit of innovation and excellence. It was a privilege to be part of this event and see firsthand the advancements in crane technology. The energy, expertise, and community spirit made it a truly unforgettable experience.
